Chapter History
You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every chapter of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today. Read more about our chapters’ histories in Kappa's digital archives.
Before Kappa, there existed the Keys--a Kappa Kappa Gamma interest group founded in the Fall of 2007. On April 25th, 2009, The Keys successfully established the 139th chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. These 28 extraordinary women of UC Merced founded the Eta Xi chapter on the bases of leadership, friendship, and scholarship. Although just recently established, Eta Xi grows exponentially every year, and continues to expound on the values of KKG to the women of UC Merced, securing the pride of the all the women across the nation who share the privilege of bearing the golden key over their heart.
